As founding members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC), it is West Bros Furniture goal to produce the best possible product with sustainability in mind.  Our continued commitment to making our world a little bit greener, West Bros led the way by becoming one of the first companies in North America, and Canada's first 'Silver Exemplary Award' for sustainability.

This achievement was awarded following an extensive application process which included the adherence to specific criteria set by the members of the SFC.  

*In negotiating with suppliers, we require that they strictly adhere to sustainable forestry principles on both public and private timberlands. These practices for land management, reforestation, growing, nurturing and harvesting trees help to protect the fragile ecosystems and landscapes of our forests and ensure the availability of top quality for future generations.

*Packaging of our products provides foam protection made of reusable and recyclable, CFC and HCFC-free, polyethylene plastic, while the corrugated cardboard boxes contain 94% recycled content.

*We have removed Styrofoam from our packaging and replaced it with recycled honeycomb cardboard

*All of our excess wood is ground up and sold to local farms for bedding for animals -not horses because of the amount of black walnut used.

*We continue to strive to find more ways of contributing to the overall wellness of the world by seeking out ways to even further reduce our carbon footprint.

*Also green West Furniture knows that accidents happen once customers have their furniture in their homes.  With this in mind, we build our furniture so tops, panels and feet can usually be replaced with minimal effort.  Replacement parts are usually available for most units provided the suite is still current product.  This is an excellent selling feature that not all of our competitors offer.  Especially off shore product.  Worth noting that this is also a “Green Practice”  .
